140 Sports Programs

The 140 Sports program was founded by Fred Wells and aims to shatter the stigmas surrounding mental health challenges. We do this by offering educational workshops and training sessions, as well as other community-based programs.

Our Mission

Our mission is to teach youth that are actively involved in sport about transferable skills that can help them both on and off the field. We strive to help these youth build strong skill sets in both mental and emotional areas of their life.

Our Team

As coaches, players, and parents, we have experienced first hand the desire to win, to be the best, to be perfect on the field. We believe that in order to be successful in sports, and in life, developing your mental skills is even more important than the physical skills.

Our Impact

Over the past 20 years there has been a drastic increase in the number of youth impacted by mental illness. While improvements have been made, we still see the stigmas associated with mental health. We strive to break down these stigmas through sport. The fact that we can impact these illnesses through intentional sports programs, even to help one child, would make the 140 Sports program worthwhile.

Our Programs

140 Sports offers a wide variety of programs, educational opportunities, and clinics. We partner with known speakers and professionals to talk with youth in the lower mainland regarding mental health and many other concepts related to it. Our 140 coaches also put on many clinics and programs for youth.
