Our Programs

The Programs offered by Step Forward Health provide access to qualified mental health programs for individuals, couples, and families and works to reduce financial barriers that would otherwise prevent access to these services. We have a carefully vetted network of professionals who are part of our programs and offer services in the community.

Our Mission

The mission of the Step Forward Program is to lower financial barriers to accessing high quality mental health services in the community for those with demonstrated financial need. Our hope is that through this program, money will not get in the way of community members accessing mental health services.

Our Network

We have a wide network of mental health professionals that are carefully vetted and hold the highest professional designations and standards in their respective fields of expertise. The professionals in our network are aligned with our mission to lower financial barriers to accessing mental health services and have agreed to work with us to provide financially accessible services.

Our Impact

Since starting in 2015, our Step Forward Program has provided over $500,000 in subsidized services to the community. Through the collaborative efforts between our donors, corporate sponsors, and network of professionals, we have been able to empower countless members of the community to access much needed mental health supports.

Our Programs

When Love Hurts (new)

A program for women who experience violence or abuse from a partner. The program will offer both in person and online options, as well as group and individual counseling.

Pain in the Arts (ongoing)

A support group program using art and mindfulness for pain management in a small class setting (max 8 people). It will support people over the age of 18 experiencing daily chronic pain or prolonged illness. No art experience necessary.

140 Sports Programs (ongoing)

Offering a wide variety of programs, educational opportunities, and clinics to teach youth that are actively involved in sport about transferable skills that can help them both on and off the field. We strive to help these youth build strong skill sets in both mental and emotional areas of their life.

MenTOR (new)

Voluntary abuse intervention groups for men struggling with trauma, violence, and unhealthy patterns of relationships. The program will help men learn healthy coping mechanisms in order to help create healthy relationships with their partners and families.

LGBTQ2S+ youth (new)

A support group program for LGBTQ2S+ youth. The group will be offered for free to youth, and will focus on creating a supportive community, education on mental health and other relevant topics, and helping members process their experiences and receive the support they need.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) (new)

This program caters to some of the highest risk patients in the community. It equips participants with essential skills to live in the present, manage stress in healthy ways, regulate their emotions, and foster better relationships with others.

Step Forward Program (ongoing)

The Step Forward Program provides financial assistance to individuals, couples and families without limitations, needing additional help subsidizing mental health services with qualified mental health counselling, educational and group support programs.
